The town is situated in the
Kastela bay at the foot of the mountain Kozjak and is proud of the
hundred-year tradition of tourism.
The area is well known for the cradle of the Croatian government because
in the Middle Age Croatian kings were enthroned in that town.
Medieval churches, castles, gardens, groves of olives and vineyards
are characteristic features in and around Kastela.
Additionally the mild climate gives travellers and occasional
visitors the possibility for an agreeable break while travelling on
the Adriatic coastal road.
